Fun is where I put small browser games and toys. Each one is a single idea you can understand in a sentence and start playing in a few seconds. Every game has a real ending, and nothing asks you to sign up, come back tomorrow or keep a streak alive.
The first game: Don’t Let the Chai Boil Over
In Don’t Let the Chai Boil Over you hold to heat the milk and let go before it spills. The catch is the same one every chai maker knows: the foam keeps rising for a moment after the flame is off, so you have to let go early. There are five pots, each a little less forgiving, and you finish with a score out of 500 and a row of cups to share.
How I build it
- Tested game logic. The simulation is pure and deterministic, so the same inputs always give the same score, and the scoring rules and timing windows are covered by tests.
- Made from scratch. The art is hand-made SVG, and the sounds are generated in the browser with the Web Audio API, so there are no image or audio files to download.
- Playable by everyone. It works with mouse, touch or keyboard, has a “tap to start, tap to stop” mode instead of holding, a slow-motion option and a calmer version for reduced motion, and is tested for screen readers.
- Light and private. It’s a static site on Cloudflare with about 11 KB of game code, and no accounts, cookies, ads or tracking. Best scores stay in your browser.
More games will arrive when they’re ready, not on a schedule.
